1. Automated Multi-Source Scraper Engine
Rather than relying on manual job postings during early platform growth, we engineered a distributed background worker pool using Puppeteer and BullMQ. Every 6 hours, scrapers ingest openings from public Web3 and tech job boards, normalize unstructured employer descriptions, and deduplicate postings using fuzzy string matching and employer domain hashing.
2. Faceted Indexing on PostgreSQL
We avoided the operational overhead of managing external search clusters like Elasticsearch by leveraging PostgreSQL GIN indexes on JSONB metadata and generated tsvector columns. Users filter across blockchain ecosystems, salary bands, and remote tags with instantaneous responses.
3. Employer Monetization & Instant Stripe Checkout
Employers upgrade listings to "Featured" status with 1-click Stripe Checkout sessions. Webhook idempotency guards ensure no double-charging or dropped promotion flags during traffic spikes.
